Gordon is a moron

First chance I've had to comment, but Gordon Brown's pre-budget slaughter of the innocent really pissed me off.

Anybody who drives a car, doesn't break the law and who chooses not to have kids has long been the financial backbone of this country, laying out sack after sack of cash to allow many a government to spend it unwisely.

Now, we have child allowance for unborn babies. Yes, a benefit being paid to someone who doesn't actually exist yet. It truly is a step from the not-quite-so to the very-ridiculous. Oh, and "Green" taxes are just another way of getting money out of the general populous. Stealth taxes, without the stealth.

I have to drive to work, due to public transport being invisible between home and my workplace. What this means, of course, is that I will still put petrol in my car, regardless of the price. Putting 1.25p on a litre isn't going to make me consider leaving the car at home, and the lousy, pickpocketing Jock knows it.

The Christmas Spirit

Last I looked, this was still officially a christian country. Now me, I couldn't care less about organised religion, and all this bickering about the nativity, and whether it should be allowed in schools is all a bit baffling. Frankly, it doesn't matter what a muslim, a hindu, a jew, or even a jedi knight thinks, the UK is still overwhelmingly christian, in it's alleged worshippings. If people don't like the fact, then they can always go somewhere where their opinions are more welcome.

And before christians start getting all sniffy, they need to remember that christmas stopped being a religious celebration long ago unless, of course, there's a god of credit and cash.

Despite all this, the nativity SHOULD be allowed. Kids will make their own decisions about religion, when they are ready. They don't need gobshite education authorities making their minds up for them, nor do they need people who have nothing better to do than stir up trouble doing it either.

Religion, it ruins christmas every year.

The bells, the bells

Today, I had one of those cold calls that really push you over the edge.

I know cold callers are a nuisance but, at the end of the day, they're trying to make a living, so I politely decline to speak to them. Today, however, was different. The woman announced herself as being from Tesco's and, because I do shop there, both in store and online, I hesitated, and what a mistake

She was insisting on asking me personal questions to verify my identity and, when I pointed out that I had no idea who she was, she just kept asking ME to verify MY identity. Anyway, after me asking 4 or 5 times, she eventually told me that it was, indeed, a service call. The call ended very shortly thereafter.

Just in case anybody from Tesco's is reading this, get your act together. Just because you are the biggest corporate monster in the country, it doesn't mean I want to talk to you, or your staff.

Sort it out.

Now, it isn't just Islam that I have an issue with, it's ALL religions. Personally, they could ban the lot of them and I wouldn't give it a second thought but, and this is the difference, Muslims complain bitterly when they are portrayed as violent and yet how do they protest? Yup, violently.

Take the protests is Turkey about Pope Mengele's visit. Personally, I think that the Catholic church should get it's own house in order, before trying to export it's kiddy-fiddling, corrupt ways to others, but is there really any need for 20,000 Turks to demonstrate against his visit? They should concentrate more on trying to get their own to stop blowing things - and people - up, simply because some effeminate maniac with a beard decides that he hates the west.

While we're on the subject, why do the BBC give so much airtime to Muslims? They constitute just 3% of the population, yet seem to command 30% of any news bulletin. I say ban religions from being mentioned, and maybe they'll go away. All of them.

Oh, and anybody who condones honour killings in the UK, fuck off and live somewhere else, you sick bastards.

Whilst I've been away, the world has become even better at pissing me off. If you are easily offended, it's probably best if you don't read this blog any more.

It's also probably best avoided if you are black, white, asian, oriental, catholic, protestant, jewish, muslim, female, elderly, a "migrant worker", a politician, a businessman, a telesales rep, scouse, manc, cockney, brummie, geordie, scottish, irish, welsh, french, german, american, definitely american, an actor, a bus driver, a taxi driver, a pedestrian, an "if it's not on the shelf, we haven't got it" type shop assistant or anybody else who seems to go out of their way to get on my nerves.

And before you start thinking I'm racist or attaching some other handle to me, don't. I couldn't give a shit what colour you are. If you're a gobshite, you're a gobshite. Stupidity is no respecter of creed or colour, as is plainly obvious every single day.

Buddhists, of course, are very welcome, as they seem awfully nice people. And Canadians.

That was no fun at all!

Well, after a prolonged hiatus, Bluey is back. I've been off line for a number of reasons, ranging from the technical to the ridiculous, but have I got a lot to say, now that I'm back!

Who'll learn first?

I've never been one of the hang 'em and flog 'em brigade, preferring to look at other ways of rehabilitating someone, but even I can see when someone's a lost cause.

On the front page of my local paper, it's reported that a man was attacked by 2 others, and stabbed in the face with a 9" knife. It turns out that one of the attackers has 35 previous convictions, and the other 38, including offences related to possession of a knife. The judge has jailed the bloke with the knife for a minimum of 3 years and 3 months meaning, in effect, he gave him a 10 year sentence. I just wonder, at what point, someone is going to look at this pair, and throw away the key. It's obvious they're beyond rehabilitation, and are a constant menace.

I still can't support the death penalty, as the English courts have a dreadful record of getting things wrong, but something needs to be done.
